CNC Machinist / Operator

BASIC FUNCTION: Operators are responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC to produce products meeting customer quality requirements.  Operators must also operate and process parts according to print and traveler requirements.  Operators must monitor machine cutting performance and utilization.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 2-3 years of experience running a CNC Machine- Operator
  • 4-5 years of experience running a CNC – Machinist
  • Utilize set up sheets, drawings, and notes from the programmer to set up vertical milling centers
  • 3-5 years of experience with lathes and Bridgeport’s
  • Must be able to set your own tools per job requirements.
  • Change cutting tools and adjust feeds and speeds per job requirements.
  • Be familiar with G and M codes.
  • Able to perform minor edits to the program at the machine as needs arise
  • Willing and able to set up and operate multiple machines at a time.
  • Be fully familiar with common inspection equipment and perform preliminary inspections of your work.
  • Capable of interpreting aerospace drawings, parts lists, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Experience with Fanuc on OKK machines
  • Knowledge of 2 and 3D machining
  • Willing to possess or have own tools to perform the job or tasks
  • Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, indicators, and blueprints

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Great attention to detail and time management. Excellent communications skills. Planning, organizing, and scheduling your daily routine. Monitoring the condition and cleanliness of the building. Must be safety and security conscious.  Must be able to handle the required lifting weight of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.  You must be able to make frequent bending and twisting movements and be able to stand for the entirety of your shift.

Conduct operations in a cost-effective and cost-conscious manner.  Assist in identifying any improvements which could lead to cost savings or a process improvement.  Perform good housekeeping in perspective work areas, to eliminate any FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
